Coaching Staff

Warren Rosser - Coach Coordinator
Warren is an accredited Level 3 Judo Coach and Level 1 Strength & Conditioning Coach. Warren was Australian Champion for 6 years in U/65kg and represented Australia on numerous occasions including the 1988 Seoul Olympics. Warren's best result was 5th place at the 1987 World Championships in Essen. Warren has been a consultant for the Sydney Swans in tackling and falling as well as First Grade Rugby Union and League teams.

John Buckley - High Performance
John is an accredited Level 2 Judo Coach. 3 times Australian light heavy weight champion and international representative, John has also been state and national mens' coach. John oversees the Judo Club's very succesful High Performance Program for our Seniors and Juniors.

Hitoshi Kimura - Coaching Consultant

Hitoshi is a 3rd Dan Black Belt with over 20 years experience. He was the Manager of SECOM professional Judo team in Japan for 18 years. Hitoshi now assists John Buckley (High Performance Coach) in coaching and organising International training tours for our Elite Junior and Senior competitors.

Robert Maurency
Former national champion, 3rd Dan Black Belt and Level 2 accredited coach with a degree in Human Movement. An excelent technician who also instructs for the Black Belt Register in Kata and techniques sessions. Assists competitive members with their Strength and Conditioning programs.

Martin Kelly
An Athens Olympian, a Level 1 Accredited Coach Martin has extensive experience at International level.

Kylie Koenig
Current National competitor in the -63kg category. Kylie assists with Senior classes and development of our Junior Women players.

Phillip Mc Dermott
A former Natioanl represantitive and a level 1 Coach. Phillip has trained extensively in Japan and is well known for his ground work skills. Phillip assists with the Junior development program.

Michael Briers
A level 2 Acredited Coach. Michael is a former international competitor and has trained extensively in Japan at the famous Kokushikan University. Michael assists with our Junior competitive program.

Phillip Kearney
Phillip has coached in Sweden at the famous Luigi Judo Club. He is now back in Sydney and assists with our Junior competitive program

Dawn Santos
Second Dan Black belt and Level 1 accredited Coach, Dawn teaches Judo and Self Defence in High Schools and Primary Schools in the Sydney Metropolitan area. Dawn was formerly a member of the National Team.

Azita Karpour
Azita is a 1st Dan Black belt and Level 1 Coach. Azita assists with the Judo Club's Junior program and the Mini Kids Judo 3-4 year old classes. Azita also holds a Diploma in Child Studies.
